Job Description

Specific Skills:
• Prepare and cook a variety of Canadian and East Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, breakfast meals, sandwiches, and daily specials.
• Plan menus and assist in developing new dishes that combine traditional Indian flavors with Canadian café-style offerings.
• Ensure consistent taste, quality, and presentation of all food items served.
• Prepare ingredients by chopping, marinating, seasoning, and portioning as required.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, fryers, and tandoor safely and efficiently.
• Monitor food inventory, estimate ingredient requirements, and assist in ordering supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Train and guide kitchen helpers or junior staff in food preparation and handling.
• Ensure proper storage of food items and minimize waste through effective kitchen practices.
• Follow all health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and sanitation procedures.
• Work efficiently during busy hours while maintaining high-quality food service.
