Hours of work: 30 to 40 hours per week / Shift

Education
• College/CEGEP degree in;
o Food service, waiter/waitress and dining room management/manager,
o Hotel, motel, and restaurant management,
o Restaurant/food services management
o Food preparation/professional cooking/kitchen assistant
o Foods, nutrition and related services,
o Culinary arts and related services, or
o Any other food and beverage service related discipline;

• OR equivalent experience and high school degree

Job Description

Tasks
1. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
2. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
3. Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
4. Hire food service staff
5. Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
6. Address customers' complaints or concerns
7. Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
8. Prepare food order summaries for chef
9. Must have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres
10. Establish work schedules
