Hooper Welding Enterprises Ltd. (H.E.V.I. – Hooper Welding Hamilton Facility) is seeking Manufacturing Engineer for 405 Eastport Blvd., Hamilton ON L8P 7S3 Canada. There are 2 positions available.

Hours of work are either day shift which is Monday -Thursday 7am – 4pm, and Friday 7am-1pm; or night shift, Monday – Thursday 4pm – 2am. Pay is $39.42/hour. Successful candidates will speak English and have a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline. Professional certification is required. Minimum work experience is 4 years hands on experience.

Job Description

Main duties are as follows but not limited to:

• Plan and design plant layouts and facilities at a manufacturing establishment
• Study new machinery and facilities and recommend or select efficient combinations. Specialization in (high-end specification-based power generation equipment)
• Develop flexible or integrated manufacturing systems and procedures
• Conduct studies and implement programs to determine optimum inventory levels for production and to allow optimum utilization of machinery, materials and resources
• Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems mainly pressure vessels, heat exchangers, nuclear & power generation equipment.
• Analyze costs of production
• Design, develop and conduct time studies and work simplification programs
• Determine human resource and skill requirements and develop training programs
• Develop performance standards, evaluation systems and wage and incentive programs
• Conduct studies of the reliability and performance of plant facilities and production
• Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs
• Establish programs and conduct studies on quality control inspection systems to enhance industrial health and safety or to identify and correct fire and other hazards.
• Evaluate or assess industrial facilities
• Supervise technicians, technologists, analysts.
