Job Description
As a Journeymen Electrician, you will be essential in executing electrical installations and repairs, ensuring compliance with safety standards and schematics. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will utilize your core skills in hand tools, power tools, and electrical experience to perform tasks efficiently. Your premium skills in blueprint reading and industrial electrician experience will enhance project execution, while relevant skills in renovation and programmable logic controllers will further support our team's objectives. A high school diploma or GED is required for this role, which is vital to our organization's success in delivering quality electrical services.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
Installing, examining, replacing, or repairing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other electrical components.
Testing electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
Troubleshooting and isolating faults in electrical and electronic systems and removing and replacing faulty components.
Connecting electrical power to audio and visual communication equipment, signalling devices, and heating and cooling systems.
Conducting preventive maintenance programs and maintaining maintenance records.
Skills Requirements:

Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
Experience: Completion of a four- to five-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college, or industry courses in electrical contracting is required.
Certification: Trade certification for construction electricians is compulsory in Ontario. A valid Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as a Electrician (state what type) is required.
Additional Requirements:

Strong understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and local building codes.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
