Nu-Vue Exteriors Ltd. is looking for permanent, full-time Carpenters. There are 4 positions available. Work is performed at residential job sites in Kamloops, BC and surrounding area (office: 463 Dene Drive, Kamloops, BC V2H 1J1).

Hours of work are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Overtime is paid in accordance with the BC Employment Standards Act. Pay is $31/hour. Successful candidates must speak English and have completed secondary school. Minimum work experience is 2 years of hands-on carpentry experience. Work is outdoors and physically demanding, including work at heights.

Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, lay out, cut, shape and join wood, engineered wood and other building materials using hand and power tools
• Frame, sheath and repair exterior walls, including removing and replacing damaged or rotted framing and sheathing
• Build, repair and replace decks, stairs, railings and other exterior wood structures
• Fit and install exterior trim, fascia, soffit, flashings and related finish carpentry
• Install exterior wall cladding systems (e.g. vinyl, fibre cement and wood siding) to manufacturer specifications and building code
• Supervise apprentices and other construction workers
