Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and kind-hearted caregiver to provide personal care and companionship to a senior in their 90s. The ideal candidate should be compassionate and attentive, able to assist with daily tasks while ensuring the individual's comfort and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding, following any special dietary requirements
• Support with bathing, grooming, dressing, and other personal hygiene needs
• Provide medication reminders and assist with administering routine medications as directed by doctors
• Help with toileting and provide physical support during transfers between bed and wheelchair
• Able to provide overnight supervision and hands-on care, as needed
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, bed-making, and tidying common areas
• Monitor client’s health status and report any changes or concerns to family members or healthcare professionals
• Provide companionship and support throughout daily routines and activities
Job Description
Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: Previous caregiving experience is an asset, but not required - training will be provided
Skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially when working with seniors and their families
• A genuine desire to care for and support others
• Basic knowledge of meal preparation, including adapting to various dietary needs
