Your Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook Chinese and Canadian dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes, portion standards, and customer order
- Prepare and cook our Cantonese-style signature dishes including, sweet and sour chicken, chow mein, fried rice, beef and broccoli, chop suey, wonton soup, egg rolls, and other menu items
- Prepare ingredients for daily service by washing, cutting, chopping, marinating, seasoning, and portioning meats, vegetables, noodles, and other ingredients
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment, including woks, deep fryers, ovens, grills, rice cookers, and other cooking equipment
- Monitor food inventory and assist with estimating daily food requirements, preparing supply lists, and receiving and storing food deliveries
- Assist owners with menu preparation, portion control, food cost management, and maintaining adequate supplies for daily operations
- Help recruit, train, and orient new kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking procedures, recipes, portion sizes, sanitation, and workplace safety
- Manage kitchen staff during busy service periods to ensure orders are prepared accurately and efficiently
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, cooking and food preparation areas, utensils, and work surfaces throughout the day and after service to maintain proper food safety standards.
- Complete opening duties, including setting up cooking stations, preparing ingredients, checking supplies, and ensuring equipment is ready for service.
- Complete closing duties, including cleaning equipment and work areas, storing and labeling food, disposing of waste, checking inventory, and securing the kitchen.
Job Description
Skills & Experience

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a cook in a restaurant setting is required. Experience preparing Cantonese cuisine is considered an asset.
