A Calgary family is seeking a caring and dependable Home Child Care Provider to provide consistent care for two young children.

Schedule
Monday–Friday
6:30 AM–9:30 AM
& 4:45 PM–7:45 PM

Saturday
8:00 AM–5:00 PM

39 hours per week

Occasional schedule adjustments may be required for daycare closures, professional development days and holidays. **Occasional overnight stays may also be required.**

Responsibilities

* Provide attentive and age-appropriate care for two young children
* Maintain a safe, positive and nurturing environment
* Prepare children's meals, snacks and drinks
* Assist with feeding, dressing, bathing, diapering, toileting and personal hygiene as required
* Follow established morning, nap, evening and bedtime routines
* Transport/accompany children to and from daycare, preschool, activities and appointments as required
* Complete daycare/preschool drop-off and pick-up
* Provide childcare during daycare closures, professional development days, holidays and other scheduled days off
* Provide occasional evening and overnight childcare
* Plan and supervise age-appropriate play, reading, crafts and outdoor activities
* Support the children's emotional, social and developmental needs
* Wash, dry, fold and put away children's clothing and linens
* Organize children's toys, bedrooms, play areas, clothing and personal belongings
* Clean children's dishes, bottles, cups and eating areas
* Pack daycare bags, clothing, snacks and supplies
* Maintain tidy and organized areas used by the children
* Communicate with parents regarding meals, sleep, activities, routines and well-being
* Follow parental instructions and established family routines
* Respond appropriately to children's health and safety needs

This is a **child-focused position**. Household duties are limited to responsibilities directly associated with the children. General household cleaning unrelated to the children is not a primary responsibility.

Qualifications

* Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent
* Previous childcare experience is an asset
* Experience with infants and toddlers is an asset
* Ability to safely care for two young children
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently and follow established routines
* Ability to prepare simple, nutritious children's meals and snacks
* Dependable, patient and safety-conscious
* First Aid/CPR is an asset
* Criminal record/vulnerable sector check may be required
* References may be requested
