Ventus Construction Ltd. is looking for 3 (THREE) skilled and dependable Framing Carpenters to join our team in Kelowna, BC and the Okanagan Region.

We are hiring for 3 full-time Framing Carpenter positions for various residential and commercial construction projects throughout the Kelowna/Okanagan area.

We are looking for people who take pride in their work, pay attention to detail, work well with others, and can be relied on to complete their work safely and properly. The position is permanent, full-time, with 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week.

Job Duties

As a Framing Carpenter, you will be involved in the day-to-day construction of residential and commercial buildings. Your responsibilities will include:

Review construction drawings, plans, and measurements before starting work and make sure you understand what needs to be built.
Take accurate measurements and mark out walls, floors, openings, and other areas according to the plans.
Measure, cut, and prepare lumber and other materials needed for each stage of the framing process.
Build and install wood framing for exterior and interior walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs.
Install floor joists, beams, subflooring, wall sections, roof structures, rafters, and other framing components.
Set up and assemble wall frames, making sure walls are properly aligned, level, square, and securely fastened.
Frame openings for windows, doors, stairways, and other building features according to the construction drawings.
Install sheathing and other materials used to strengthen and prepare the structure for the next stage of construction.
Work with different types of wood products, engineered wood, wood substitutes, light-gauge steel, and other framing materials when required.
Make adjustments to framing when measurements or site conditions require changes, while ensuring the finished work remains accurate and properly aligned.
Use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, saws, drills, nail guns, and other carpentry equipment safely and correctly.
Work closely with the site supervisor and other trades to coordinate the work and keep construction moving according to the project schedule.
Inspect completed framing to identify areas that may need adjustment, repair, or additional reinforcement.
Help unload, move, organize, and safely store construction materials around the job site.
Keep tools, equipment, and the work area clean and organized throughout the day.
Follow company safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working on site.
Work safely when using ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and when performing framing work at heights.
Assist with other carpentry and general construction tasks as required by the project or site supervisor.
May provide guidance or assist in coordinating the work of other construction workers when required.
Position Requirements
Completion of high school is required.
3–5 years of previous carpenter/framing experience OR completion of a three- to four-year carpentry apprenticeship program.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Good understanding of measurements, construction plans, and basic framing practices.
Able to work with hand tools and power tools used in carpentry.
Able to lift construction materials and work on your feet for extended periods.
Comfortable working outdoors and at different construction sites.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a construction team.
Availability to work a variety of hours when required, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and different shifts depending on project requirements.
Candidates must be willing to work at various locations throughout the Thompson-Okanagan Region, depending on company contracts, with the majority of work based in Kelowna, BC.
Transportation to and from construction sites will be provided.
