Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Preferably with education in cooking or related area.

Experience: Previous commercial cooking experience is an asset.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes for dine-in and takeout orders according to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare meat, seafood, vegetables, rice, noodles, soups and sauces offered on the restaurant’s menu.
• Organize ingredients and complete food preparation before opening and during busy lunch and dinner periods.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure customer orders are prepared accurately and served on time.
• Prepare special orders for customers with food allergies or dietary requirements and follow procedures to prevent cross-contact.
• Check food quality, portion sizes and presentation before orders leave the kitchen.
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers and assign food preparation and cleaning duties.
• Maintain inventory, receive and inspect food deliveries, rotate stock and report items that need to be ordered.
• Monitor food storage, kitchen cleanliness and safe food-handling practices throughout each shift.
• Clean and sanitize cooking equipment, preparation surfaces and kitchen work areas at the end of each shift.
