Work Site Environment:
- Beef Cattle Ranching and farming, including feedlots
- Outdoors, confined spaces, dusty, hot, noisy, odours, wet/damp, livestock, all weather conditions, dirty.

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:
Supervise, monitor and enforce operational procedures, expected to check individual pens for sick or distressed animals. Once affected animals are identified, the employee is expected to treat the animal with the correct drug to prevent death or continued sickness. Farm Supervisor is expected to use the proper protocol to process all incoming cattle and associate them with a lot name and a tag number given by the employer.


SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Supervise 1-2 crewmembers, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal health and overall animal welfare.
General administration of herd health, constant assessing of pens to ensure proper bedding and conditions.
Check pens daily, check cattle for illnesses and injuries.
Pull affected animals and treat them with medication when necessary.
Keeping computer records of animals treated and medicines used.
Ensure water systems are operational and repaired when necessary.
Maintaining accurate cattle records including but not limited to quality control/production records.
Receive and assess new cattle ensuring to follow proper procedure such as vaccination and tagging procedures.
Prepare cattle for shipping and receiving.
General maintenance of yard equipment and machinery used in cattle care.
General maintenance of fences, corrals, gates, and holding systems.
