Responsibilities
Tasks
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work specifications to determine glass installation requirements.
• Measure, cut, fit, and install glass, mirrors, windows, doors, skylights, and other architectural glass products.
• Install aluminum framing systems, storefronts, curtain walls, glass railings, partitions, and entrance systems.
• Remove, repair, and replace broken or damaged glass in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Apply glazing compounds, sealants, gaskets, and weatherproofing materials to ensure secure and watertight installations.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install prefabricated glass and aluminum products according to project specifications.
• Operate hand and power tools to cut, drill, grind, polish, and finish glass safely and accurately.
• Inspect completed installations to ensure compliance with quality standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Transport, handle, and position glass using appropriate lifting equipment and safe handling techniques.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work area while following workplace health and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors, supervisors, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
• Train and assist apprentices or junior employees as required.
