Our business is seeking an experienced Landscape Maintenance and Softscape Supervisor to supervise and coordinate our maintenance and softscape crews. The successful candidate will organize daily production, schedule workers and job sites, coordinate tools and materials, monitor quality and safety, communicate with clients, and ensure landscaping work is completed efficiently, on budget, and on schedule.

Job Description
Position: Landscape Maintenance and Softscape Supervisor
NOC: 82031
Number of vacancies: 1
Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
Wage: $38.50 per hour
Benefits: Participation in the company benefits program after 90 days of employment
Language of work: English
Work location: North Vancouver, BC, and various client/job sites across the North Shore and surrounding areas
Anticipated start date: As soon as possible
Main duties and responsibilities
• Supervise, coordinate, schedule, and support landscape maintenance and softscape crews working at various job sites.
• Arrange and organize the planting and maintenance of lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, hedges, flower beds, and other landscaped areas.
• Plan and organize daily and weekly schedules to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, profitably, on budget, and on schedule.
• Estimate requirements for tools, equipment, materials, plants, and supplies to ensure efficient project execution.
• Requisition and order plants, soil, mulch, fertilizers, tools, equipment, and other materials required for landscape maintenance and softscape work.
• Establish daily and weekly work priorities, goals, and procedures, and communicate expectations clearly to crew members.
• Ensure tools and equipment are in safe working order and coordinate repairs, replacements, and supply needs to prevent job-site delays.
• Monitor work at job sites to ensure it is completed in accordance with client requests, designer plans, company procedures, applicable standards, and accepted landscaping practices.
• Inspect completed work, identify deficiencies, resolve work-related problems, and ensure corrective work is completed promptly.
• Delegate and explain planned or design work, work scopes, and approved changes to crews and ensure instructions are properly followed.
• Train and coach employees in job duties, company procedures, safe work practices, quality standards, and proper use of tools and equipment.
• Monitor employee performance, support performance reviews, and report staffing, training, discipline, or operational concerns to management
• Ensure crews comply with company operating standards, workplace safety requirements, and professional presentation expectations.
• Prepare and provide daily or weekly progress reports to the General Manager and participate in meetings concerning job sites, employees, productivity, and workmanship
• Communicate with clients by email, telephone, and in person to provide updates, answer questions, confirm satisfaction, and address service concerns.
• Prepare or assist with estimates, proposals, change orders, and client approvals for additional landscaping work before work begins.
• Ensure site signage is installed, clear and visible on all long-term sites. Signs/banners etc. should be removed no later than 10 days after job completion.
• Perform other related supervisory duties as required.
Employment requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required.
• A college diploma, specialized courses, industry-related training, or certification in landscaping, horticulture, landscape management, or a closely related field is preferred.
• A minimum of two years of experience in landscaping, horticulture, softscape, garden maintenance, grounds maintenance, or a related field.
• Previous supervisory, foreperson, team lead, crew lead, or management experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, or a related environment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to complete work on budget and on schedule.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites as required
