Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required
Experience: Work experiences as a carpenter for 2 years or more required
Tasks/ Job Duties: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs; Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements; Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools; Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials; Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems; Fit and install commercial fridges, doors, mouldings and hardware; Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites; Instruct and supervise carpenter helper; Estimate costs and materials; Maintain, repair and renovate commercial and other establishments.
Supervision: Carpenter helper and general labourer
Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Handling heavy loads, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Tight deadline and Large workload
