Custom Helicopters Ltd. is seeking four (4) Helicopter Pilots to join the team in Winnipeg.

Permanent, Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off OR 3 weeks on/3 weeks off.

$105,000 - $180,000 annually, depending on candidate’s prior IFR or VFR experience. Extended tour pay is available.

Position will require extensive travel, usually within Canada but occasionally outside Canada, to locations that are sometimes remote and challenging.

Job Description
Duties:

• Prior to each flight ensure that the aircraft is suitably equipped for the mission.
• Responsible to complete the daily inspection prior to each flight assignment.
• Devise a flight plan using information about the weather, passengers, aircraft, and route.
• Conduct preflight safety checks and work closely with maintenance crews to ensure any issues are addressed before commencement of flight.
• Ensure that aircraft checklists are used during all flight operations.
• Ensure operation of the aircraft is always performed in a safe manner.
• Communicate with Maintenance department with respect to anomalous operations.
• Monitor loading and unloading of cargo to ensure a balanced load and careful handling procedures.
• Complete paperwork after each day’s flight assignment, including log entries, flight tickets, tracking paperwork, etc.
• Train pilots to use new equipment, or prepare them for examinations to revalidate or upgrade existing licences
• May participate in search and rescue operations, forest firefighting, aerial surveying, crop dusting and other services.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• Completion of a certified flying or aviation school program is required.
• Must possess Canadian Commercial Pilot License (H), with VFR or IFR experience.
• Must have a minimum of 1500 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC) flight time, though 2000 hours or more is preferred.
• Must have extensive flying experience in one or more of the following aircraft type ratings: AS350, B407, AS332, SK76, and AW139.
• Previous experience working in remote geographical locations is highly desirable.
• Ability to pass criminal background check and hold a valid passport.
• Excellent problem-solving and English communication skills are required.
• Must demonstrate analytical reasoning, with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
• Must be self-motivated, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to adapt to unusual working hours and working conditions.
• Tour lengths may vary, depending on operational circumstances, and may be out of province or out of Canada.
