Job title : Restoration Carpenter
Wage: $34.00 to $40.00 hourly (To be negotiated), 30 to 40 hours per week
Duties :
1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, work orders, and project specifications to plan and complete carpentry work for residential and commercial renovation, repair, and restoration projects.
2. Attend residential and commercial job sites to assess work areas, identify damaged or deteriorated building components, take measurements, and determine the materials and carpentry work required for restoration and reconstruction.
3. Measure, mark, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other building materials using appropriate hand and power tools.
4. Repair, replace, and reconstruct damaged or deteriorated walls, ceilings, floors, framing, subfloors, and other structural and interior components of residential and commercial properties.
5. Perform carpentry repairs and reconstruction associated with flooding, water damage, hail damage, and other property damage, including removing damaged materials and rebuilding affected areas as required.
6. Install, repair, and replace doors, windows, stairs, mouldings, trim, hardware, and other interior and exterior building components as part of renovation, repair, and restoration projects.
7. Maintain, repair, renovate, and restore existing residential and commercial structures while ensuring that repaired and reconstructed components are properly integrated with the existing structure.
8. Coordinate carpentry work with restoration project requirements and timelines and adapt work procedures to address unexpected conditions or additional damage identified during the restoration process.
9. Inspect completed carpentry and restoration work, identify deficiencies or required adjustments, and complete necessary repairs to ensure the work meets project specifications and quality standards.
10. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition and keep work areas clean, organized, and safe in accordance with applicable workplace health and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
• Education : Secondary (High) School graduation Certificate
• Work experience : Minimum 3–5 years of relevant carpentry and/or restoration experience, including residential and commercial repair, renovation, reconstruction, and restoration.
