We are seeking a reliable and compassionate live-in Home Support Worker to assist a senior in a private household located in Cornwall, Ontario. This is a full-time position (30 hours per week) with accommodation provided, including a private room within the home. The ideal candidate will provide ongoing support with daily routines, including medication reminders, personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship. The role requires someone who is patient, dependable, and able to create a safe and supportive environment.

The caregiver must be comfortable living in the home and able to provide consistent, attentive care. Flexibility is important, as the position may require occasional travel within Canada to accompany the employer on family visits, ensuring continuity of care during these periods. This position is best suited for someone who values building a meaningful relationship while supporting a senior to live safely and comfortably at home.

Job Description

o Administer daily medications according to schedule
o Assist with personal care, bathing, dressing, and grooming
o Assist with mobility and light exercises (e.g., walks)
o Provide companionship and social engagement
o Feed or assist with feeding as needed
o Perform light housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry
o Prepare and serve nutritious meals
o Shop for food and household supplies
o Occasionally accompany employer on short trips within Canada for family visits, ensuring continuity of care
o Maintain a safe and supportive environment at all times
o Combination of sitting, standing, walking
o Light lifting up to ~20 lbs (9 kg)
o Ability to assist with mobility and transfers
o Language: English
o 30 hours per week, permanent
o Location of work: Cornwall, Ontario. Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
