Experience: Work experiences as renovation carpenters for 3 years or more required and work experience of restaurant renovation carpenters an asset
Work setting: Renovation of restaurants
Tasks/ Job duties: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for restaurant renovations, Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements, Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools, including removing old fixtures, walls, flooring, ceilings, and cabinetry, preparing surfaces and structures for renovation, and ensuring safe disposal of materials and debris, Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials, Prepare tenders and quotations, Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems, including building or modifying wall framing, partitions, bulkheads, and ceilings, installing support structures for kitchen equipment, counters, and shelving, bar tops, booths, banquettes, and decorative woodwork, storage solutions for kitchens and service areas and ensuring everything meets building codes and load requirements, Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware, including installing cabinets, counters, bars, and serving stations, fitting doors, windows, trims, and moldings and installing wall panels, drywall, and ceiling systems, Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites, Survey building locations and levels, Estimate costs and materials, Maintain, repair and renovate restaurants, including ensuring materials and finishes are suitable for restaurant environments (e.g., moisture-resistant, easy to clean)
