Job Requirements
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience required
Experience: Work experience as a fishmonger for 1 year or more required and the employer will provide training.
Work setting: Wholesaler
Work site environment: Cold/refrigerated, Odours
Tasks/ Job Duties: Cut, trim, bone and otherwise prepare custom and/or standard cuts of fish and shellfish; Clean fish and shellfish to prepare for the processing or cutting; Prepare seafood or special display and/or delivery; Shape, lace and tie fish and wrap or package fish; Weigh fish and seafood for sale; Manage inventory as instructed by manager.
Equipment and machinery experience: Knives
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Standing for extended periods, Physically demanding, Hand-eye co-ordination, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads
