Job Description

South Alder Farms is an operating Farm that grows, harvests and markets berries such as Blueberries, Strawberries and Blackberries. We have Fields throughout the Fraser Valley. Currently we are seeking Farm Labourers for the upcoming season.

Role Description
This is a seasonal on-site role for a General Farm Labourer at South Alder Farms Ltd. in Aldergrove, BC. The General Farm Labourer will be responsible for daily tasks including operating farm equipment, assisting with harvesting activities, and general farm maintenance. The role requires physical labor and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Labour Duties required to operate the Farm to CFIA and FDA food safety standards.
Job duties include maintaining fields and crops to produce high Quality product including
• Pruning
• Weeding
• Cutting flowers and runners
• Tilling
• Raking
• Brush cutting
• Spraying/Fertilizing/Mulching
• Adding and removing crop covers
• Installing and maintaining poles and wires
• Irrigation maintenance
• Installing and removing crop tunnels and tarps
• Harvesting, weighing and transporting crop
• Packing produce for market
• Maintaining farm tools and equipment

Qualifications
• Familiarity with general Farms operations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant experience in farm labor is preferred.
