L-D Tool & Die is looking for a full time Mould Maker at 139 Iber Rd, Stittsville ON K2S1E7 Canada. There is 1 position available.

Hours of work are average of 35 hours per week (overtime pay after 44 hours). Must possess good trouble shooting and problem-solving skills to properly repair tools and fixtures. Pay is $66,300 annually. Successful candidates must speak English and have completed high school. Minimum 5 years of experience in mould making and injection moulding field as a journeyman is required.

Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities are as follows but not limited to:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications of tools, dies, prototypes or models
• Prepare templates and sketches, and determine work processes
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and set up machine tools
• Machine, fit and assemble parts to make metal moulds and cores for plastic injection moulding, or other production processes
• Position, secure, measure and work metal stock or castings to lay out for machining
• Setup, operate and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools to cut, turn, mill, plane, drill, bore, grind or otherwise shape workpiece to prescribed dimensions and finish
• Verify machined parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments such as verniers, calipers, micrometers, co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM) and electronic measuring devices
• Fit and assemble or disassemble parts using hand tools
• Test completed tools, dies, jigs or fixtures for proper operation
• Support production team members to ensure proper quality output and safe operations
• Maintains 5’s in the shop and perform general maintenance and cleanup of all tool room equipment
• Should have good communication skill
