Job Description

Job Duties

Supervise and care for children in employer’s residence
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks
Organize and participate in activities such as games, reading, crafts, and outings
Assist children with homework and school routines
Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
Perform light housekeeping and laundry related to child care
Accompany children to and from school, appointments, and activities
Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
Tend to the emotional well-being of the children

Requirements

Completion of secondary school (high school)
Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in child care, additional training available
Ability to communicate in English
First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Reliable, patient, caring, and non-smoking
Vehicle Required

Work Setting

Private household (employer’s home)
Employment Conditions

Overtime may be required
Flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Salary: $20.85 per hour
Working Hours: 30-40 Hours per week
