Fanshaw Fence is looking for an experienced Lead Fence Builder to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the skilled construction, installation, and repair of a variety of fence systems for residential and commercial projects. This includes interpreting site plans, selecting appropriate materials, and completing custom installations with precision. The ideal candidate will have several years of hands-on experience using a wide range of fencing materials and tools, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and consistently produce high-quality, durable workmanship with minimal supervision.
This is a full-time position; 40 hours per week; $36.00 per hour.

Job Description
Duties:
- Read and interpret complex site plans and blueprints to determine accurate fence layout and installation requirements for custom residential and commercial projects.
- Conduct detailed site preparation including grading assessments, layout marking, and identification of potential challenges prior to installation.
- Independently install fence posts, panels, gates, and other components using wood, vinyl, chain link, and ornamental metals with high precision
- Perform advanced fabrication and modifications of materials on-site to adapt to varying terrain, structures, or custom design specifications.
- Use specialized tools and equipment, such as post-hole diggers, augers, concrete mixers, and power saws, ensuring accuracy and safety.
- Execute complex installations including multi-material systems, decorative fencing, sound barriers, and automated gate systems.
- Diagnose and repair structural issues in existing fences with attention to aesthetics, stability, and longevity.Ensure compliance with local bylaws, building codes, and client specifications throughout all phases of installation
- .Maintain high standards of craftsmanship while working efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain tools and equipment in excellent working condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade training in carpentry or construction is a plus.
- Previous experience in fence installation is required. Preference may be given to candidates with 2 or more years of relevant experience, including lead-hand roles.
- Comfortable working with wood, vinyl, chain link, and other materials using power and hand tools.
- Able to read site plans or blueprints and work independently to complete projects.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in different weather.
- Knows how to follow safety rules and keep job sites clean and organized.
- Driver’s licence preferred.
- English language ability is required.
