Job Title: Social Services Worker
Employer: Bridgeway Connection Services
Location: Edmonton, AB, T6L 4Z2
Work Location: On-site (no remote option)
Salary: $36.20 per hour
32 to 35 hours per week

Terms of Employment:

o Shifts: Morning, Day, Evening, Night

Education:
• College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate/diploma (1–2 years program)
• Or equivalent experience
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Key Responsibilities / Tasks:
• Prepare reports or case histories
• Appraise clients’ needs or eligibility for specific services
• Conduct social research
• Implement life skills workshops
• Refer offenders to community and social services programs
• Assess client strengths and development needs
• Provide suicide and crisis intervention
• Supervise children’s visits with parents to ensure safety
• Assist offenders in pre-release and release planning
• Implement substance abuse treatment and behaviour management programs
• Conduct individual and group counselling sessions
• Liaise with other social services agencies and healthcare providers
• Maintain program statistics for evaluation and research
• Assist in evaluating treatment program effectiveness
• Screen, recruit, and train volunteers/support staff
• Assist clients with special needs
• Refer clients to financial assistance, legal aid, housing, medical treatment, and other services

Credentials / Certificates Required:
• Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR Certificate
