Hooper Welding Enterprises Ltd. is seeking Mechanical Engineer (with specialization in manufacturing of high-end specification-based power generation equipment) for 1390 Advance Road, Oakville ON, L6L 6L6 Canada. There are 2 positions available.

Hours of work are Monday Thursday 7am – 4pm, and Friday 7am-1pm. Pay is $59/hour. Successful candidates will speak English and have a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline. Professional certification is required. Minimum work experience is 4 years hands on experience.

Job Description

Main duties are as follows but not limited to:

• Conduct research into the feasibility, design, operation and performance of mechanisms, components and systems mainly pressure vessels, heat exchangers, nuclear & power generation equipment.
• Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems (high-end specification-based power generation equipment)
• Design power plants, machines, components, tools, fixtures and equipment
• Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures
• Supervise and inspect the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical systems at a manufacturing establishment
• Develop maintenance standards, schedules and programs and provide guidance to industrial maintenance crews
• Sound understanding on ASME Code based Nuclear Construction related Specifications in Material, design, Manufacturing and Quality domains.
• Generate/Update quality manuals per ASME Quality guidelines on Nuclear Constructions.
• Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems
• Prepare contract documents and evaluate tenders for industrial maintenance
• Supervise technicians, technologists and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates.
