We are seeking an Early Childhood Educator committed to fostering a culturally rich, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, integrating Wuikinuxv values into early childhood education. We are looking for educators with their ECE. This is a 1-Year term position in our remote community on the Central Coast, with the option to extend.

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
• Program Planning: Develop and implement a Wuikinuxv culturally inclusive program that emphasizes whole child development and aligns with the Aboriginal Head Start (AHS) framework.
• Child Guidance: Offer positive guidance techniques and supervision, maintaining a balance of attentiveness and firmness to guide children through their learning and developmental journey.
• Creative Environment: Foster a setting where children can explore, learn, and grow in all developmental areas, embracing language and culture.
• Health and Safety: Ensure the ongoing health and safety of children, adhering to Health Medical Safety and Licensing regulations.
• Activity Leadership: Organize and lead daily preschool activities, special events, field trips, and open houses. Contribute to the development of a preschool curriculum.
• Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, volunteers, and staff.
• Communication: Regularly communicate with families, liaise with external agencies, and provide information to visitors. Offer recommendations for additional services for children when needed.
• Compliance: Adhere to the BC Early Years Framework, BC Child Care Licensing Regulation, the Community Care and Assisted Living Act, and the Aboriginal Head Start Principles and Guidelines.
