Job Description
Duties:
• Conduct engineering practices in accordance with the engineering practice and as directed by the professional engineer and prescribed and set out as standard with the Association of Engineers in British Columbia;
• Field reviews and perform engineering as directed by the professional engineer for jobs specific to the Company;
• Prepare documentation and reports of results of design and reviews as directed by the professional engineer;
• Pursue self-improvement and continuing education in relevant fields of knowledge;
• Assist in the Development and improvement of the firm to promote good engineering practices as outlined by the Engineering Association of British Columbia;
• Observe and follow safety guidelines and regulations at the work sites visited and cooperate with safety officers on site;
• Obtain and maintain, at personal expense, the necessary legal permits for employment with British Columbia employers, whether full-time or part-time;
• Register and maintain registration as an Engineer-in-Training with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering- civil or structural.
• Minimum 4 years of specialized experience in structural steel design, including design of pre-engineered steel buildings.
• Must be proficient in using Autodesk Robot Structural, Revit, SkyCiv, and Idea-Statica engineering software packages.
• Knowledge and practice in MBMA standards and tolerances.
• Knowledge and practice in design of built-up tapered steel members per American and Canadian codes.
• Knowledge and practice in design of cold formed structural members per North American codes.
• Knowledge and practice in bolted and welded connections design.
• English language is required.
