This is not a typical freight transport role. Our Truck Drivers are key frontline contributors to the successful delivery and placement of building materials into active construction environments. This position combines skilled short-haul vehicle operation with hands-on labour and coordination on construction sites.
Key responsibilities include operating flatbed trucks to transport structural materials such as drywall, lumber, and finishing supplies to active construction sites across BC; conducting pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections; coordinating with site access teams and tradespersons to safely stage deliveries in partially completed buildings; manually unloading and placing materials into designated areas, including elevated floors, through windows, and other challenging site-specific access points; safely handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg / 100 lbs); adjusting delivery approach based on progress and condition of job sites; and complying with all safety regulations and site protocols.
Work is entirely on-site (no remote option) and takes place in dusty and physically demanding construction site environments. The role involves regular heavy lifting and maneuvering of materials and requires flexibility to coordinate with active construction scheduling.
Applicants should have a secondary school diploma or equivalent experience and 1 year to lessthan 2 years of general driving experience. A valid Class 5 (5F/G) driver’s licence is required.Experience with flatbed trucks is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication and coordination skills, sound judgment, and physical stamina.
