Job Details
New Hourin Ramen, a ramen restaurant serving authentic Japanese Fukuoka Ramen noodles and soup base, is seeking a Head Cook for our Burnaby, downtown Vancouver, and Richmond locations.
Permanent, full-time; 30-40 hours per week; $36.60 per hour. Bonus is available depending on sales performance.

Standard 8-hour shifts for this position could be scheduled between 9AM and 12AM, as required.

Shifts could be scheduled at the following locations, as required:

#2: 1226 Robson Street, Vancouver, BC V6E 1C2
#3: 140-5911 No. 3 Road, Richmond, BC V6X 0K9

Job Description
Duties:
• Cook everything on the menu;
• Prepare Ramen ingredients and other Japanese food items;
• Inspect ingredients for quality and freshness and supervise all food preparations.
• Coordinate and oversee kitchen staff and cooks in managing the preparation of meals;
• Ensure all meals leaving the kitchen are consistent in presentation and quality;
• Menu/cost/portion planning; create daily or weekly special menus;
• Assign training duties to various kitchen staff for newly hired employees, and monitor training progress.

Qualifications:
• 3-5 years experience as a commercial cook is required;
• Previous experience with Japanese ramen cuisine is an asset;
• English language ability is required;
• Japanese language ability is an asset.
