Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support licensed plumbers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems, including water, drainage, and gas systems.
- Transport, load, and unload plumbing materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Prepare job sites by cleaning and removing debris, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assist in measuring, cutting, and threading pipes according to specifications using various tools such as saws, pipe cutters, and pipe threaders.
- Help in installing pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures such as sinks, toilets, and water heaters under the guidance of a plumber.
- Assist in locating and repairing leaks by identifying faulty pipes or fixtures and replacing or repairing them.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning drains, removing clogs, and maintaining plumbing fixtures.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and using tools and equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked as directed by the supervising plumber.
- Interact with clients professionally and courteously, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
- Continuously learn and develop plumbing skills by observing and assisting more experienced plumbers.
- Ensure the job site is clean and free of debris after completing work, properly disposing of waste materials.
