Job Details
Piedmont Sheet Metal is looking for full time Sheet Metal Worker Helper - Construction at 7439 Lowland Drive Burnaby, BC V5J 5A8. There are 2 positions available.

Hours of work are 40 hours a week Mon-Fri (overtime pay after 40 hours). Pay is $24.08 per hour. Successful candidates must speak English. No education and 6 months of experience are acceptable.

Job Description
Main duties are as follows but not limited to:

• Assist in reading engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates
• Assist in developing patterns for sheet metal using computer-assisted design and drafting (CAD) software package
• Assist in operating light metalworking machines such as shears, brakes, punches, and drill presses, including computer numerical control (CNC) equipment to cut, bend, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
• Assist in operating computerized laser or plasma cutting equipment to cut sheet metal
• Assist in installing and use rigging and hoisting equipment
• Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, eavestroughs, partition frames, air and heat ducts, material handling systems, roof decking and sheet metal buildings
• Assist in installing sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
• Assist in grinding and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
• Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
• Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
• Assist in removing rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
• Assist in directing traffic at or near construction sites
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
