TJ’s the Kiddies Store is B.C.’s original baby super store. Our extensive experience and knowledge has served parents since 1978.  We offer in excess of 20,000 products focusing on infants and toddlers, across more than 300 brands online and in-store. 

 

We are seeking a full-time software engineer who thrives on computing problems and relish the challenges of new business opportunities, efficient operations, and procedures in global trade. Our systems offer great shopping experiences, for customers, services of good controls for managers, and salespeople, proper organization of data, secure storage of complex records, and valuable insights into the data. 

 

Full-time (40 hours per week), $80,000 base salary per annum, extended health and dental benefits after probationary period.

Job Description

Duties:

• Write, modify, integrate, and test software code for the company’s e-commerce solutions
• Conducting code reviews
• Understand business needs and build out detailed software solutions
• Research and evaluate a variety of software solutions
• Work with other team members to identify and resolve coding issues
• Analyze existing software architecture and propose improvements
• Implement automated tests and monitoring of e-commerce services
• Learning and growing technical knowledge by experimentation and collaboration with the team

 

Required qualifications:

• Programming experience with at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, including object-oriented design. 
• 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. 
• Minimum 2 years of team leadership or management experience
• Minimum 5 years of full-time professional software development experience. 
• Good understanding of international trade or export-focused trade. 
• Good understanding of online to offline business pattern and operations. 
• 4+ years experiences with recognized international online sales platforms or search engines, i.e: lazada, jet, flipkart, jd.com and/or others. 
• Technical knowledge of trending global mobile payments including Alipay, Wechat and others. 

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor or a higher degree in Computer Science or related fields. 
• Excellent problem solving skills. 
• Good written and oral communication skills, be a fast learner and have the ability to adapt quickly. 
• Good knowledge of digital marketing.
• Consumer facing retail operation/organizational experience.
