Job Description:

·         Bathe, dress and feed children   

·         Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents    

·         Prepare children for rest periods    

·         Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children 

·         Sterilize bottles, prepare formulas and change diapers for infants

·         Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home

·         Take the children to all the appointments needed   

·         Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development    

·         Tend to the emotional well-being of children    

·         Prepare and serve nutritious meals    

·         Organize activities such as games and outings for children    

·         Supervise and care for children   

·         Help the older child with homework   

·         Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties   

·         Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents    

·         Travel with family on trips and assist with children supervision and housekeeping duties    

·         Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens    

Requirements:

-Education: Completion of secondary school is required.

-Experience: At least one year of full-time experience as a caregiver is required.

-First Aid and CPR training are assets

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, overtime required.

-Personal Suitability: Initiative, judgement, reliability, effective interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication, organized, flexibility.

-Work setting: Private home – Employer’s home

-Children ages: 5 and 3 years old and a newborn.

Salary: $15.00 - $17.00 hourly, 40-45 hours per week.

Benefits: We cover the costs of transporting the worker from his/her current address to the place of work

Important Information:

-Monday to Friday. Regular schedule starts at 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (during the school period) and from 8 AM to 5 PM during the summer.

Position requires flexibility in schedule due to the parents’ work schedules. Overtime will be required. Weekend work, evening shifts, night shifts, and on call shifts might be required.  The child care provider will be responsible for the care of three children (Ages: 5 and 3 years old, and a newborn)
