We are looking to hire an administration and finance assistant who is committed to furthering your career in our industry. You have demonstrated interest and experience in finance and accounting, international business, trade, logistics, transportation sector, digital strategies & software tools, economics, international trade agreements, tariff classification of goods, and communication.

 

You will primarily support the Finance & General Manager with duties that include:

 

·         Prepare expense reports, make travel arrangements, schedule and prepare for meetings involving clients, managers and business owners

·         Electronic filing, answering phones and responding to general inquiries, distributing emails and calls

·         Order office supplies and maintain inventory

·         Compile data and statistics related to company policies related to company environmental performance and staff vacation and personal days

·         Assist set up of new client accounts, credit applications, credit approvals, bond letters, support accounts payable (A/P) process including and communication with suppliers

·         Prepare, edit and distribute invoices to customers and input data and documentation into accounting system

 

·         Train and support staff in software, computer hardware and office equipment

·         Manage corporate electronic and data archive systems for company files

Skills

 

·         Develop and deliver knowledgeable and responsive client and staff service

·         Written and verbal English communication skills

·         Data entry and software skills including Microsoft 365 applications, Slack and comfortable working with text (command based) integrated customs/freight/accounting software

·         Organizational skills and attention to detail

·         Interpersonal skills and team orientation

·         Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize work in a live operations environment

·         Motivated, hard-working and open to learning and feedback

 

Education

·         Preferably College or University education in a relevant discipline

·         Several years of related experience

·         Commitment to ongoing education

 

Compensation

This is a full-time permanent (30 hour per week) role with compensation of $22 per hour.  Extended health and dental benefits are available after a successful probation period.
