XAXLI’P ADMINISTRATOR

Xaxli’p- Lillooet, BC

Xaxli’p is one of eleven indigenous communities in the St’a?t’imc Nation. It is located in the Fountain Valley, along Highway 99, in the central interior of B.C. about 15 km north of Lillooet The region is surrounded by natural beauty ranging from a varying climate, snow covered mountains, local flora and fauna, to the panoramic views of the Fraser River.

As a key member of Xaxli’p’s management team, this is an exciting, challenging, and rewarding opportunity. If you are a self-driven leader, knowledgeable and experienced in the management of programs and services this might be the opportunity for you. Reporting to Chief and Council, the Administrator’s primary mandate is to provide direction and overall management of the Administration and community affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide sound recommendations, advice, and support to the Chief and Council

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with Chief and Council, staff and Xaxli’p members

  • Plan, organize, report, and evaluate management systems, policies and operating procedures, and

    human resources management

  • Provide management and direction to all departments ensuring quality program service and delivery

  • Liaise with various levels of governments, agencies, industries and business managers to further the

    goals and objectives of the organization

  • Provide funding support and proposal writing

  • Manage the overall operating budget in conjunction with the Finance Manager

    Required Qualifications & Experience

  • University Degree in Business, Public Administration, Indigenous Governance, and/or equivalent experience preferred
  • 3 or more years of basic project management skills with strong organization skills to keep track of projects & proposals through to completion
  • Experience in the areas of Human Resources, Finance, Economic Development, and Community Planning preferred
  • Experience working within an indigenous environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge working with funding agencies, indigenous culture, titles, rights and traditions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills; interpersonal, verbal, and written
  • Positive attitude with dedication to success and ability to work collaboratively with all parties involved
  • Ability to adapt, undertake multiple tasks and respond quickly to changing priorities is imperative
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Pass a Criminal Record Clearance Check
