Thomas Haas Fine Chocolates & Patisserie / Thomas Haas Chocolates is an award winning pâtisserie including Best Baker, Best Desserts, Pastry Chef of the Year, Best Chocolate Shop, etc. We are currently looking for a full-time, permanent Baker/Pâtissier at the North Vancouver location.

Education, skills and experience required:
• Completion of high school
• Some experience as a baker /
• Completion of a three- or four-year apprenticeship program for bakers; OR
Completion of a college or other program for bakers; OR
Some experience as a baker / pâtissier
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Language:
• Communication skills in English

Compensation:
$17.50 - $19.00/hour (negotiable based on experience, qualification), 4% Vacation Pay, extended health coverage after one year full-time continuous employment

Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare dough for croissants, danishes, sponges, cookies and cakes and glazes according to recipes or special custom orders
• Operate bakery machinery
• Mould dough into appropriate shapes, place dough into appropriate pans and bake mixed doughs and batters
• Glaze and decorate cakes or other baked goods
• Ensure quality of products meets established standards
• Ensure appropriate storage of baking utensils and supplies
• Ensure baking equipment is cleaned and maintained properly
• Inform the manager when baking supplies are needed
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards
• Understand and follow the “Thomas Haas Chocolates” standards, and procedures
• Assist the chocolatier during enrobing procedures and application of décor
